WORKING WITH MAKE UP TOOLS

Image
Makeup Tools It is difficult to apply makeup properly without the right tools. By using the right tools properly, you can achieve the look you are aiming for.  A good brush for the application of blush, powder, lipstick and eyeshadow is made of real hair.  Brushes made of synthetic materials work well for the lips, foundations and concealers, however, the bristles of synthetic brushes do not hold makeup in powder form well. It is difficult to contour, blend, or smudge with synthetic brushes. The tips of real hair brushes are uncut and that makes them hold powder better.  A foundation brush is used mostly for dry foundation, but if you twirl it in your fingers, it can buff out areas of cream and liquid foundations that are streaky.  A Kabuki brush is great for applying powders and bronzers softly and evenly spreading it over the face. Twirl the brush in your hand and it can buff out the harsh lines.  A Powder brush will diffuse loose powders, to give colour that is less concentrated and

SKIN CARE

Skin Care Part of the job of a makeup artist, is to offer beauty tips to your clients and work with them to protect their skin.  As you age, your skin becomes drier and more wrinkled. However, if you take care of it, you can look younger without the need for surgeries or procedures.  The largest body organ is the skin. It covers an area of around twenty square feet. Its several purposes are to protect the body from the elements and microbes, to assist in the regulation of body temperature and for sensations to cold, heat and touch.  Skin consists of three layers: the Epidermis, Dermis and Hypodermis.  The Epidermis is the outer layer of skin, that creates the skin tone and provides a barrier that is waterproof. The skin sheds and renews itself every four or five weeks.  Chemical peels, rub substances into the outer layers of the skin. These layers die and are peeled off and the skin underneath is fresh and new. This treatment helps the person to have less wrinkles and younger, smoother

MAKE UP AS A CAREER

Makeup as a Career Makeup artists work in the fashion and media industries, creating looks for models, presenters and performers. They may work on the makeup for actors for movies, television, theatre, photo shoots and concerts. A makeup artist will listen to the needs of their clients and work to create a certain look, taking into consideration lighting, wardrobe and the person's natural features (hair, skin color and facial shape). Once an artist has been working with a client for a while, they may know what to do for them without any direction. As a beauty makeup artist, you will experience an array of responsibilities, from advice, to product recommendations, to giving makeup tips. It will be essential for you to know the various application techniques and how to use different types of makeup. Not everyone will look good in all colors and you will need to know how to effectively determine which colors work and which ones to stay away from. It is hard to say how much money you c

HISTORY OF COSMETICS

Image
History of Cosmetics - The light that has always been there, to look beautiful and be wanted. For centuries, various forms of cosmetics have been used to enhance beauty, promote better health and in religious rituals. The great Pharaohs wore eye makeup to exert their power and women wore it to enhance their beauty. Cosmetic products have evolved from using sometimes dangerous and deadly ingredients, but the overall concept of using makeup hasn’t changed. People have been altering the way they look for generations, to become more appealing, to assert their stature in society and to feel better about themselves. The positive thing about makeup is that it doesn’t physically change your appearance. Both men and women in Ancient Egypt used ointments and scented oils, to mask their body odor and soften their skin. Natural substances such as: thyme, myrrh, marjoram, lavender, lily, peppermint, chamomile, rosemary, rose, aloe and cedar and oils such as sesame, almond and olive oil, were used t

WHY PEOPLE USE MAKEUP

Why do people use or wear make up: for people who like make up or want to be a make up artist. Beauty and makeup artistry is done in a way that accentuates a person’s best features.  People wear makeup to look younger, have clearer-looking skin, look physically fit and encourage self confidence. Makeup is not just about physical enhancement, it is about psychological enhancement as well.  Makeup has the ability to transform the face and to make someone look younger. It can hide our imperfections and accentuate our best features.  Makeup artists work in Media, to get people ready for the camera. Some work in the fashion industry, preparing models for magazines and shows and others work in salons and prepare people for weddings and other important events. Researchers contend that people are born with natural detectors of beauty, as part of our inherent biological drive to propagate. A symmetrical, youthful face is more attractive than an older one, for example, as it reflects a person th

Then use concealer only where you need it, like on under eye circles and blemishes, Try a creamy formula, like in a shade that matches your skin tone. Then blend using your ring finger for the lightest touch, and don't tug on delicate under eye areas. Expert tip: To get at fine lines, use the point of your brush. Step 2: A Touch of Base To get perfectly even skin the speedy way, use a foundation stick. It's easy and gives you plenty precise application. Using the stick like a giant marker, draw thick lines down cheekbones, the sides of your nose and above brows, and blend with your fingers. Want to look a little more sun-kissed? Before blending, use a second stick that's two or
